LocalRec vs CourtReserve

LocalRec Facility OS is booking and operations software for indoor sports facilities in Canada. You pay one published monthly price per facility with 0% booking commission, however many courts you add, and card payments go into your facility's own Stripe account. CourtReserve is club software for racquet and paddle sports, with plans priced by the number of courts.

Players book your courts on the web or in the LocalRec app, and a player who books can turn it into a pickup game others join.

Where LocalRec is different

  • Add courts without changing plans

CourtReserve's plans step up at 8, 16 and 32 courts. LocalRec is one monthly price per facility in Canadian dollars, so a ninth court or a new turf field costs nothing extra, and LocalRec takes no cut of your bookings.

  • Courts, turf and the whole gym on one calendar

Sell single pickleball courts and the full floor from one calendar, and a full-floor booking can never overlap a court booking, whether it came from the desk, the web or the app.

  • Players who fill your courts

Customers book on your booking page or in the LocalRec app on iOS and Android. A player who books a court can turn it into a pickup game that other players join. Regulars can ask for the same time every week, and you book the free dates in one go. In Regina, LocalRec runs soccer leagues in its app, with team sign-up, schedules, standings and stats.

  • Paid the way you choose

Pick one way to get paid. Card at booking goes into your facility's own Stripe account, with Apple Pay and Google Pay. Interac e-Transfer can take a deposit, and staff confirm each transfer when it lands. Or customers pay at the facility and staff record it against the booking.

Moving from CourtReserve to LocalRec

Keep CourtReserve running until your LocalRec booking page is open.

  1. Set up your courts

Add each court by name, then create what you rent: single courts, pairs and the whole gym.

  2. Bring your customers

On Grow, import customer records from a CSV file. On Operate, staff add customers at the desk, and everyone who books is added for you.

  3. Enter bookings you've already taken

Add them on the desk calendar, so those hours are taken before your booking page opens.

  4. Open bookings

After a quick verification by LocalRec, share your booking page link with your players.

Questions owners ask

Is LocalRec cheaper than CourtReserve?

LocalRec charges one price per facility in Canadian dollars, however many courts you add, with no booking commission. CourtReserve's plans go up with your court count. Both sets of published prices are in the table above.

Can customers pay by Interac e-Transfer?

Yes. Choose e-Transfer, set a deposit and a deadline, and staff confirm each transfer when it lands. A booking that isn't paid in time is released so you can sell the court again.

Can my regulars keep their weekly court time?

Yes. Enter their season on the desk calendar before your booking page opens. After that, they ask for the same time every week in the LocalRec app, and you book every free date in one go.

Where do players book on LocalRec?

On your booking page on the web, or in the LocalRec app on iOS and Android. They confirm with a 6-digit code sent to their email, with no password to remember.
