Facility booking software in Regina, Saskatchewan
LocalRec Facility OS is booking and operations software for indoor sports facilities in Canada. It's built for Regina facilities that rent turf, gyms and courts by the hour. Customers book on your booking page on the web or in the LocalRec app, and your desk adds phone bookings to the same calendar.
What renting space in Regina looks like
Winter fills the big fields first
From October through April, club programs hold Regina's largest indoor turf. One club's indoor youth season runs from October 10, 2026 to March 7, 2027, and every age group from U7 to U13 was full by mid-October. Adult teams, school groups and one-off renters are left looking for whatever turf and gym time remains on winter evenings. An open Tuesday night in January only gets booked if those renters can find it. Every hour you haven't sold shows on your public booking page, and a renter can take it late at night without waiting for the desk to open.
Several sports in one building
Regina's private venues often mix spaces under one roof: turf fields beside a basketball court, or courts lined for basketball, volleyball and pickleball. Each space has its own rate and its own regulars, and the desk has to keep them all straight. Add each field and court as its own rental with an hourly rate and photos, and the day view shows the whole building at once. A customer booking a court sees only the courts that are free at that time.
Weekly groups still start with an email
Much of Regina's private rental still runs on email and request forms, and a group that wants the same night every week is usually asked to write in. Someone reads it, checks the schedule by hand and writes back, and the team doesn't know which nights are theirs until the thread is done. In the LocalRec app, a player can ask for the same time every week instead. You see each date marked free, booked, blocked or outside your hours, book the free ones in one go, or decline with a message.
Pickleball is short of courts
In May 2026 Regina had 16 indoor pickleball courts, against 28 in Saskatoon, and a pickleball operator planned a summer pop-up in the city because players were short of places to play. Many buildings don't work for it, because support posts and low ceilings rule them out. If your gym has the height and an open floor, you can rent it as single courts on weeknights and as one floor for a tournament weekend.
City courts book three days out
The City of Regina books courts at the Sportplex and Fieldhouse up to three days before play, with one booking per person per day. That works for a drop-in game. A team that wants the same court all winter needs a private facility that takes regular bookings. On LocalRec you set your own opening hours, rates and cancellation policy, and customers cancel from the link in their confirmation email under that policy.
Regina players already find games in the LocalRec app
Players in Regina already use the LocalRec app to find pickup games and soccer leagues. They can find your facility there and book a space, paying at the facility or by e-Transfer, and the player who books can turn it into a pickup game others join.
How LocalRec fits a Regina facility
A booking page in place of the request form
Customers pick a day, start time and length on your public booking page and confirm with a 6-digit code sent to their email. The slot is held while they check out, 10 minutes by default, so nobody else takes that hour in the meantime.
Pick how customers pay
Choose one: card at booking, paid into your own Stripe account, Interac e-Transfer with an optional percentage deposit and a window to send it, or payment at the facility. Prices are in Canadian dollars, and LocalRec takes no booking commission.
Memberships on Grow
On the Grow plan you can sell monthly memberships with a sign-up fee and set access hours. Members manage their own membership on the web.

Questions owners ask
Do my customers need the LocalRec app to book?
No. Customers can book on your booking page in any browser and confirm with a code sent to their email. The app is a second way in for players who already use it.
Can I rent single pickleball courts and the whole gym from one calendar?
Yes. Set the gym up as the courts it divides into, then create a rental for each court and one for the whole gym. A booking on the whole gym blocks every court, and a booking on one court blocks the whole gym for that hour.
How do Regina customers pay for a booking?
You choose one way for your facility: card at booking, payment at the facility, or Interac e-Transfer after booking. Prices are in Canadian dollars.
Can I sell memberships at my Regina facility?
Yes, on the Grow plan. You set the monthly price, sign-up fee and access hours, and staff check members in at the desk.
